An eminently young public joined this Saturday a new edition of the Ra\u00efm Wine Fest, with a strong presence of wines made with local varieties.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, 5,000 people enjoyed the festive atmosphere of a new edition of the Ra\u00efm Wine Fest, a meeting point between the wines produced in Mallorca and a young and familiar public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The itinerant festival of Vi de la Terra Mallorca was installed, for the second consecutive year, in sa Bassa Nova. It was a privileged space on the seafront to offer a festive atmosphere and taste the wines produced by ten wineries from Felanitx and other parts of the island: Vid’Auba, Son Alegre, 7103 Petit Celler, Bodegas Angel, Jos\u00e9 Luis Ferrer, Galm\u00e9s y Ferrer, Maci\u00e0 Batle, Gallinas&Focas, Son Vich de Superna, and Dalt Tur\u00f3.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

White wines, especially in demand in summer, reds and ros\u00e9s were the main protagonists in a night that lasted until after two in the morning, to the sound of music by Colorado Band, Conejo Manso and DJ Titi. In addition to the music and wine, there were also children’s workshops and gastronomic offerings, through local products – tapas, ice cream, pastries from different establishments in Felanitx – and food trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt has been a participation success\u201d says Sebasti\u00e0 Ordines from 7103 Petit Celler, \u201cI think we achieved what we wanted, which is to bring wine closer to young people. It is very important to make our wines known to the people of Mallorca. We work with local varieties and, in addition, with organic agriculture. Therefore, the wines we make in our winery cannot be found anywhere else in the world, because we make them with local varieties. This is what makes us different.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA lot of people have come, we are very happy. I don’t know if it is because we are from Felanitx, but people have come a lot to the stall of our winery.\u201d Miquel Binimelis from Vid’Auba is grateful \u201cthat people come to drink Mallorcan wine, especially young people, it is very important that they begin to appreciate the work we do\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramon Servalls, from Maci\u00e0 Batle believes that the festival \u201cshows that you can have a party with wine. Wine should leave certain environments, get closer to the people. Wine is also a drink for young people who want to party. Events like this one are part of a worldwide trend to make wine known as a recreational element\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sixth edition… and we keep on!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was the sixth edition of the Ra\u00efm Wine Fest organized by Vi de la Terra Mallorca with the aim of promoting responsible consumption of wine produced in Mallorca. The festival was organized with the collaboration of the Felanitx Town Council and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by numerous authorities: the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, Joan Simonet; the Councilor for Economic Promotion and Local Development of the Consell de Mallorca, Pilar Amate; the mayor of Felanitx, Catalina Soler, accompanied by councilors of the consistory; the general director of Agricultural Food and Local Product Quality, Joan Llabr\u00e9s; the island director of Economic Promotion and Product of Mallorca, \u00c1lvaro Roca; and the mayor of Costitx, Antoni Salas, among others. All of them were present at the opening photograph of the festival, along with the president of Vi de la Terra Mallorca, Magdalena Mesquida, the vice president, Conxa Rosillo and the manager, Marina Vera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor us, it is a great satisfaction because it is the second edition that we organize in Portocolom. The place is wonderful, and the atmosphere is fantastic\u201d said Magdalena Mesquida, president of Vi de la Terra Mallorca, during the institutional toast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFelanitx, as you know, is a land of wines,\u201d recalled the mayor, Catalina Soler, \u201cand this is a magical place, an incomparable setting. And that is why we ask everyone who comes to appreciate and value the wines of the land. There are wineries from Felanitx, and others that have come from other places. The wine is a product of the land, km-0, that we must savor and enjoy, and the closer to the sea the better\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Councilor Joan Simonet, \u201cthe wines of Mallorca are the spearhead of the agricultural sector of the Balearic Islands. These promotional activities that combine party, the wine, the dissemination of this quality product… make more and more people get to know it, especially focused on young people, as Vi de la Terra Mallorca does: people who taste these wines for the first time and who will become future consumers. When we drink a glass of wine, there are extensions of vineyards, landscape, territory, and farmers who live from their work behind it\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Consell de Mallorca, the Councilor Pilar Amate, highlights \u201cthe valuable contribution of the wine sector to protect our territory and its excellence and innovation in the wines produced in Mallorca. Wines that have special organoleptic properties, which make them stand out from the rest, due to our geographical location, which makes them unique in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Portocolom, the Ra\u00efm Wine Fest continues its tour through the Majorcan geography: in August it will arrive in Sant Lloren\u00e7; and, in September, in Pollen\u00e7a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
