The Raïm Wine Fest will offer in Palma a unique experience with three outstanding sommeliers and chefs of the island, who will pair gastronomy and wines of local varieties

Such prominent names in the world of wine as sommeliers Josep M. Juhé, Josep Avellà and Georgia Scaramella will join chefs Miquel Serra, Tomeu Arbona and Ariadna Salvador to offer three food and wine workshops on November 16th

The enogastronomic workshops are one of the highlights of the ninth edition of Raïm Wine Fest, to be held in the Parc de la Mar in Palma next Saturday, November 16. The itinerant festival of Vi de la Terra Mallorca brings to its maximum expression the fusion between wines produced in Mallorca and local gastronomy through three workshops. This will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the process of elaboration of different culinary creations and taste them paired with local wines, made with authorized local varieties.

There will be three workshops, specifically two of savory dishes and one sweet, which will be led by three exceptional pairs of sommeliers and chefs. Sommelier Josep Maria Juhé and chef Miquel Serra will offer two elaborations paired with single-varietal red wines, one made with Manto Negro and the other with Gorgollassa. On the other hand, sommelier Josep Avellà and chef Tomeu Arbona will pair two more dishes with Giró Ros single-varietal white wines. And the third pairing will be in charge of the sommelier Georgia Scaramella and the chef Ariadna Salvador, expert in pastry. They will offer two sweet dishes paired with a semi-sweet white wine of the Prensal Blanc variety and a single-varietal red wine from Callet.

The aim of these workshops is to bring the public closer to the wine and gastronomic richness of Palma and Mallorca as a whole. The workshops will begin with a brief presentation of the IGP Vi de la Terra Mallorca. The chefs will show the preparation of the chosen dish and the sommeliers will present the variety of wine with which it is paired, why this combination and what is the reality of this local variety in winemaking in Mallorca.” That is why in these workshops we will offer a very careful selection by Vi de la Terra Mallorca, with a predominance of red wines but also with space for white wines”.

In order to attend these food and wine workshops, Vi de la Terra Mallorca will offer 120 places in total (60 double tickets) starting this Wednesday, November 6, for those interested. They will have to fill in a form on the website https://vtmallorca.com/ and the available places will be allocated in order of application. The price of each workshop will be 8 euros per person and will be held between 13:30 and 16:15 hours at the festival site. The Raïm Wine Fest reaches its ninth edition this coming November 16 in Palma. The festival, which has been touring different municipalities of Mallorca for two years, will open its doors at 1 pm in the Parc de la Mar and will last until 1 am. It offers attendees the opportunity to taste more than a hundred references from 37 wineries in Mallorca with live music, children’s activities and also gastronomic offerings by food trucks and local businesses.
